John Allen “Sam” Halbrooks

A memorial service for John Allen “Sam” Halbrooks, 61, of Hartselle will be Sat., April 16, at 2 p.m. at Moss Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wendell Callahan officiating. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Halbrooks died Wed., April 13, 2016, at Mount Royal Towers Nursing Home in Birmingham. He was born July 15, 1954.

He was a mechanic, retired from Joe Wheeler EMC. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Astor Halbrooks and Jane Smallwood Halbrooks; and two brothers, Larry and Gillon.

He is survived by two sons, Keith and Kelly Halbrooks; one daughter, Renae Butler; three grandchildren, Josie, Keira and Nylan Halbrooks; and three brothers, Bill, Jimmy and A.D. Halbrooks.
