Forrest Chapel to present ‘Stations of the Cross’
Forrest Chapel presented Stations of the Cross last year just for their church. This year the group, directed by Selina Lindsey and Denise Wallace, decided they wanted their efforts to be an outreach for the community.
Stations of the Cross is an interactive dramatization of the time period from Jesus being betrayed by Judas and being arrested until He is laid in the tomb. There are 13 stations arranged around a path to trace the steps of Jesus.
The event will be presented Sun., March 6, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
The characters will be dressed in Biblical costumes and will those attending will be guided through 15-minute tours. Those attending will also be able to use their senses of touch, taste and smell to help experience this dramatization.

Station 6: Jesus Falls- Victoria McNutt
Station 7: Jesus Meets the Women of Jerusalem-Marsha Summerford and Kathryn Wallace
Station 8: Station 8: Jesus Is Stripped- Renee Stephenson
Station 9: Jesus Is Nailed to the Cross –Shane Lindsey

When the Worship Committee asked the youth what they would like to do, they wanted Stations of the Cross.
Youth and volunteers from Forrest Chapel United Methodist, McKendree United Methodist, Moss Chapel United Methodist, Salem United Methodist, First United Methodist of Hartselle and Daystar will present the event. There are 30 -40 volunteers who will help present the dramatization.
Lindsey said they are praying people will attend. They want to touch those who do not know Christ and what He did for them. There will be a prayer vigil covering the event beginning at midnight the day of the event and continuing until 5:00 p.m.
Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are suggested. The 15-minute walks will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will continue until 5:00 p.m.
