Haskel Columbus ‘Hack’ Ward

A graveside service for Haskel Columbus “Hack” Ward, 85, of Hartselle was Thur., Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. at Gum Springs Cemetery with Bro. Ralph Henderson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Ward died Tues., Feb. 23, 2016, at his residence. He was born Aug. 13, 1930, in Morgan County to William Leldon Ward and Nannie Odalean Montgomery Ward. He was the owner and operator of Ward Roofing for more than 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He loved to coon hunt and play music. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings, Alene White, Sally Ray, Reba Stinson, Pearl Baker, Boots Ward,Hilton Ward and Wilburn Ward; and a grandson, Jeremy Topper.

He is survived by three sons, Steve Ward (Kelly), Jeff Ward (Sabrina) and Tim Ward (Juliana); a daughter, Debbie Topper (Bobby); three sisters, Jean Self, Yvonne Russell and Brenda Sparks; a sister-in-law, Billie Sue Ward; 10 grandchildren; 12 great–grandchildren; and his special love, Loronda Ward and her children, Jake and Hunter Patterson.
