Zac Brown made it official last week – He's a University of Alabama-Huntsville Charger.
The tennis standout signed the dotted line with two UAH coaches and his parents present.
Brown said it's a relief to get the signing over with.
"Now it's something I don't have to think about until after the season," Brown said. "UAH is close to home and I have a couple of friends on the team."
Brown will know Ashley Perry. Perry graduated from Hartselle last year and plays on the tennis team.
Tennis coach Leigh Ann Beard said she is ecstatic just to have Brown sign, no matter the cause.
"He is an outstanding player," Beard said. "He's very dedicated and a hard worker. I know he puts in a lot of extra time at practice."
Brown is 5-2 in singles matches this year. He holds a 4-3 record in doubles matches.
