Being a painter has always been Stan White’s place in this world, and has always been a constant presence in his life.

Born in Sylacauga and a graduate of Hartselle High School, Stan White attended Auburn University where he was graduated in 1983.

After graduation, Stan White’s professional career began in print media as a Layout Artist in Birmingham, and Fashion Illustrator in Macon, Ga. While in Macon, Stan White’s talent as an illustrator continued to pay off in the music business, when he became creative Director for Great Southern Merchandising.

Stan White’s art began to change direction in 1994 when he left Georgia for Philadelphia to pursue his passion as a freelance portrait artist. Since then, he continued his work in Houston, Atlanta and currently in the Northshore of New Orleans area.

In addition to commission work, he is currently working on a one man show in New Orleans, and a series of SEC and NFL paintings as well.

See Stan White’s art at the National Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores, October 8-11. Also follow him on Facebook at portraitsinoilbystanwhite, and purchase artwork and prints on his website at http://portraitsbystanwhite.wix.com/artist-corner-blog
