Funeral for Rick Sharp, 62, of Hartselle will be Wed., July 22, at 3 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Decatur with Dr. Rob Jackson, the Revs. Ben Bates and Pearl Jenkins officiating with with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in the Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church.

Mr. Sharp died Mon., July 20, 2015, at his home in Hartselle. He was born Dec. 6, 1952, in Decatur, to Lloyd Carnell Sharp and Violet Billings Sharp. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and played in the praise band. He was an accomplished musician and was the music reviewer for the Alabama Baptist Association. He was a 1971 graduate of Priceville High School and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Martine Bates Sharp; six sons, Anthony Sharp of Mobile, Brian Sharp (Regina) of Hartselle, Christopher Sharp (Mallory) of Madison, Brandon Sharp of Hartselle, Jeff Bates (Jessica) and the Rev. Ben Bates (Paula) all of Hartselle; two brothers, Mike Sharp (Sandra) of Northport and Kip Iles (Penny) of North Ft, Myers, Fla.; two half-brothers, Hill Iles of Pineville, La., Emory Iles of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; a half-sister, Beth Iles of Cape Coral, Fla.; eleven grandchildren, Austyn, Sofia, Hunter, Baron, Chloe, Nathan, Cameron, Mackenzie, Ansley, Tristan and Graylee.
