June Osborn Wyker

June 29, 2015

Funeral for June Osborn Wyker, 90, of Decatur will be Wed., July 1,  at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Decatur. Afterwards, the family will receive friends in the church parlor. A family graveside service will be held at Decatur City Cemetery. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mrs. Wyker died peacefully in the comfort of her home Mon., June 29, surrounded by her family as she went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was born June 1, 1925, to Fred and Marjorie Osborn. She spent many years helping customers at her daughters’ business, Wyker’s Toys. She was also active in her church, First Presbyterian Church of Decatur. Her most defining role, however, was that of a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John D. Wyker II and a son, John D. Wyker III.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Wyker Jones and Ella Wyker Martin (Bruce); two brothers, Bob Osborn and Fred Osborn; grandchildren, Beau Jones (Deede), John Wyker IV, Ella Lela Wyker, Jennifer Martin Capps (Matt), and Lauren Martin Carter (Bryan); great-grandchildren, Wyker Jones, Ian Jones, Wells Capps and Caroline Capps; many nieces and nephews, and her loving caregiver and friend, Nell Matthews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donors’ favorite charity.
