Dr. Stewart honored at ALVMA Awards Luncheon on June 4
The Alabama Veterinary Medical Association recently honored Dr. Barry Stewart of Hartselle with a Service Award during the ALVMA Awards Luncheon on June 4 at their annual conference at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. This award is presented to members who have contributed generously of their time and energies to the Association for the advancement of the profession.
“Dr. Stewart has devoted his time and vigilance to the Diagnostic Lab Committee and the North Alabama Veterinary Medical Association,” said Dr. John Hammons, ALVMA immediate past president.
Dr. Stewart graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. He has served the North Alabama VMA as secretary for 19 years. He also served as the ALVMA Diagnostics Lab Chair from 2005-2014. Dr. Stewart has been very active in the production animal organizations as well. He is active in the American Association of Bovine Practitioners and serves on many of their committees. He also served on the Academy of Veterinary Consultants Board of Directors. He has been a very active member of NAVMA and is most deserving of this award.
