Enquirer receives recognition

The Hartselle Enquirer was recently recognized by the Alabama Press Association with several awards.

In the APA’s Advertising Contest, the Enquirer received first place in the following Division D categories: Best Single Half Page Color Ad for its Hartselle Eye Care advertisement, Best Advertising Campaign for the Physician Hearing Care campaign, Best Innovative Online Advertising-Single Ad for the Hartselle Eye Care advertisement and Best Online Revenue Builder for the paper’s daily email newsletter.

Hartselle Enquirer also received second place in the Presentation of Online Advertising contest for the website and third place for the Best Classified Display Ad for the “Here’s My Card” section.

In the APA 2015 Better Newspaper Contest, the Enquirer placed first for Best Presswork and Best Special Section for its “Building Blocks” special section. Staff writer Clif Knight’s photo “Welding Jamboree” was awarded second place in the Best Feature Photo competition. “Walkoff Champs” by former editor Brent Maze received third place in the Best Sports Single Event Story category.

The Tennessee Press Association judged the entries in both contests. The entries totaled 1,032 entries in the Advertising Contest and 2,888 entries in the Better Newspaper Contest. The awards will be presented Sat., June 20, at the Alabama Press Association Summer Convention in Destin, Fla.
