Wallace takes ACCC Regional title

The Calhoun Community College and Wallace State softball teams competed in the ACCC Regional Tournament April 24-27 with ten other teams.

The Lady Warhawks’ first game was a victory Friday over Alabama Southern 5-2. They lost to Wallace 12-1 in game two and swept Jefferson Davis 9-0 in game three. Calhoun advanced to day three of the tournament, and beat Alabama Southern again 3-1.

The Lady Warhawks were knocked out by tournament champions Wallace State on Sunday 2-1.

Wallace beat Calhoun 12-1 Friday, and went on to win two more games Sunday to play for the ACCC Regional title Monday. They beat Southern Union 11-7 and Faulkner State 9-0 Sunday before the championship doubleheader Monday 7-1 and 5-4 over Shelton State.
