9TH GRADE BASEBALL: Hartselle 12-10, Austin 0-0

Hartselle allowed just one hit and three walks in two games with Austin on the road Thursday.

In the first game, Houston Wright allowed just one hit and two walks with three strikeouts during two scoreless innings. Garrett Wade racked up six strikeouts in  two innings of work. Ethan Ellis struck out three and allowed one walk.

Wade and Connor Burks led the way with three hits apiece. Burks had a double with three RBIs while Wade had two doubles and an RBI.

Riley Wood added two doubles while Houston Wright and Chuck Ord had two hits each with Ord collecting two RBIs. Jackson Terry also had an RBI single.

Four Hartselle pitchers combined to no-hit Austin in a five-inning game.

Burks struck out all six batters he faced in two innings. Ord and Seth Mayfield had just a walk each while striking out the side in an inning while Jackson Terry struck out all three batters in his inning pitched.

Ethan Ellis paced the Tigers with a 2-for-3 effort with an RBI. Garrett Wade had a two-run double and drove in another run. Britt Gillette had a two-run single, and Riley Wood, Burks and Houston Wright added singles.
