The Lady Patriots scored its only two runs in the first inning and overcame three errors to defeat the Lady Raiders in the season opener for both teams Feb. 24.
Bailey Watkins, who finished 2-for-3, stole home for the first run. Taylor Ledbetter hit a triple and came home on Madison Evans’ sacrifice.
Other Brewer players with hits include Evans and Morgan Thomas.
Watkins struck out eight Decatur batters and scattered five hits and a walk to earn the shutout win in 92 pitches.
