Funeral for Rommie Ralph LeFlore, 80, of Vian, Okla., was Sat., Jan. 31, at Vian High School Gymnasium.

Burial was in Box Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Mr. LeFlore died Thur., Jan. 29, in Vian. He was born April 20, 1934, in Massey to Carl and Helen Bristow LeFlore. He was raised in the Kiamichi Mountains. He graduated from Wilburton High School in 1951. He attended the Oklahoma Eastern A&M College in Wilburton from 1951-1953, then continued his education at OSU in Stillwater, graduating in 1955. He entered the U.S. Army and served overseas in the 8th Division until he was discharged in 1957. On March 27, 1958, he married Betty Lucas LeFlore in McAlester.

He was a Vocational Agriculture instructor for 28 years. His career began in Hartselle and ended in Vian. He retired in October 1985 and spent his remaining years ranching and training horses. He was a member of Blackgum First Baptist Church where he supported and assisted with the Men’s Breakfast for many years. He was extremely proud of being an educator and was thankful for his numerous students and friends throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife Betty of Vian; two daughters, Michaele Cole (Bill) of Purcell and DeShonne Haworth (Ed) of Tahlequah; two sons, Dirk LeFlore of Atlanta, Ga. and Rafe LeFlore of Blackgum; eight grandchildren, Seth, Sean, Lydia and Alex Cole, Bracie and Hannah Haworth and LaKeesha and Kyndal LeFlore; a brother, Garry LeFlore of Tyler, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
