Thanks for making the ceremony a success

Dear Editor,

We want to thank the following people for helping with the dedication ceremony for the historic marker at the B-26C crash site Aug. 16. The event was a success, and it was all done by these volunteers.

Traffic Safety and Safety: Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin, MCSO Deputy Rick Sherman, MCSO Capt. Ron Livingston, MCSO Chief Deputy Mike Corley, Hartselle Police Chief Ron Puckett, Hartselle Mayor Don Hall, Falkville Police Chief Chris Free, Alabama State Trooper Joel Baker, Massey Fire Chief Tim Laney, Danville Fire & Rescue, Punkin Center Fire Department and Neel Fire Department.

Site Maintenance and Flags: The Arvil Allison family, Billy Buckalew, Cecil Linderman and Alabama Department of Transportation.

Ceremony: Ret. Col. Ken Brown, USAF, Rep. Ed Henry, Sen. Arthur Orr, Morgan County Commission Chairman Ray Long, District 3 Commissioner Don Stisher and Doug Moss – Moss Audio Systems.

Color guard: 1st Lt. Amy Maddox, Capt. Bethany Aldridge, 1st Sgt. Rebekah Rigoni and Maj. Andrew Pestona, all from Priceville High School, and Capt. Robert Shaw, Lt. Col. Matthew Ellow and Sgt. 1st Class Fredrick Traylor, all from Brewer High School.

Special thanks also to the Rev. Walter Blackman, Shawn Harris, Cory Charles and Lee Y. Greene Sr. Support included Paul Patel and his staff at the America’s Best Value Inn & Suites.

We thank these people for their support of the effort to mark the final resting place of the WWII B-26C Marauder  “Katy-Did” and her crew.
