Meth lab found near Priceville Days Inn

Two were arrested Mon., Sept. 29 at the Days Inn Hotel in Priceville after a meth lab was discovered in a tree in a wooded area nearby.

The Priceville Police Department and Morgan County deputies responded to the Days Inn Hotel, 63 Marco Drive, Priceville, after being notified by hotel staff that several patrons had seen a subject running through the parking lot with a plastic bottle that was on fire. The subject had thrown the bottle behind a dumpster.

Morgan County Drug Task Force agents located a one-pot meth lab in a tree behind the dumpster. They were told the subject had returned to Room 127 where officers made contact with Shawn Caudill and Sarah Moore, both 27. Agents found several materials associated with the production of methamphetamine, including acid, drain cleaner, cold packs, lithium batteries, Coleman fuel and Claritin D.

Adjacent rooms above and below Room 127 were evacuated due to chemical hazard.

Caudill and Moore were arrested and charged with unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance- methamphetamine. Their bond was set at $500,000 each.

The Days Inn staff was notified that a meth lab had been located on the property.
