Hartselle man charged with sexual abuse, enticing
A Hartselle man is in custody facing criminal misconduct charges stemming from an extensive investigation.
Jamey Lee Meyer, 33, of 712 E. Byrd Road in Hartselle turned himself in and was charged with separate charges of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old and enticing a child to enter a vehicle, house, etc. for immoral purposes. Both offenses are Class C felonies.
He is being held in the Morgan County Jail on $5,000 bond.
Sgt. Pete Taylor, supervisor of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit, conducted the investigation, which stemmed from complaints that were submitted in Dexter, Mo., in July 2014.
Taylor indicated that other related charges may be forthcoming.
