HHS cross country finishes third

The Hartselle High School cross country boys and girls teams both finished third in the large school division of the Lawrence County/ Cold Springs Pepsi Challenge Sat., Aug. 30.

Abigail Davis won the varsity girls race with a new course record of 20:08. Other scoring girls for Hartselle included Billie Shelton, 22:33; Reagan Bowling, 24:22; Jessica Hickerson, 26:24; Jordan Hickerson, 26:54; Ivy Buchanan, 28:36 and Stephanie Roman, 29:23.

They scored a team total of 75 points with an average team race time of 24:04.

The boys team also placed third in the large school division. Johnathan Duncan finished first for Hartselle and fifth in the varsity boys race with a time of 18:21. Other scoring boys for Hartselle included Charlie Ord, 19:04; Chase Barrett, 19:56; Timothy Ammons, 20:22; Tyler Dolbeer, 21:18, Liam Davis, 21:28 and Alex Linton, 21:38.

They scored a team total of 95 points with an average team race time of 19:48.

The HJHS boys team finished second in the 3,200 meter JV race. Addison Zanda finishing first for Hartselle and third in the JV boys race with a time of 13:06. Other scoring JV boys included Eric Rabadan, 13:09; Preston Smith, 14:09; Hawken Foote, 15:15; Hudson Sneed, 15:19; Evan Bowling, 15:38 and Kirk Morris, 15:40.

They scored a team total of 61 points with an average team race time of 14:12.
