McGarry, Brown to wed Sept. 13

Kenneth and Elaine McGarry of Fayetteville, Tenn., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Marie McGarry of Huntsville, to Zachary David Brown of Huntsville, formerly of Hartselle, son of Peggy Brown of Hartselle and David Brown of Crane Hill.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Carol McGarry of Huntsville and the late Donald McGarry and Clare Rufe of Huntsville and the late Elmer Rufe Sr.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Athens State University. She is employed by Valley Appraisal Services.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Donald Shipley of Addison, Martha Shipley of Hartselle and Mable Brown of Hartselle and the late William Dewey Brown.

He is a 2003 graduate of Hartselle High School. He has his bachelor’s degree in management information systems from University of Alabama of Huntsville and a MBA in information systems from UNA. He is employed by Northrop Grumman.

The wedding will be Sept. 13, 2014, at Huntsville Botanical Gardens.
