Col. Casey graduates from U.S. Army War College

Col. Rita B. Casey has graduated from the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle, Pa., and earned a master’s degree in strategic studies. The college is the Army’s senior educational institution.

The 10-month curriculum of the Army’s senior officer school is designed to prepare and train officers of all the U.S. military branches of service, foreign military officers, as well as senior civilian officials of federal agencies, to serve in top-level command and staff positions with the U.S. Armed Forces worldwide.

She is currently serving as G2 Director of Intelligence for the Army, with the Joint Force Headquarters, Montgomery. She has served in the military for 31 years.

Casey is the daughter of Deanie McDougal of Cullman. and sister of Dianna L. Browning of Lacey’s Spring,  niece of Hazel Brady of Huntsville and David Brady of Trenton and stepmother of Stephanie A. Bye of Arab.

She is a 1979 graduate of Buckhorn High School, New Market. She earned an bachelor’s degree in 1992 from Athens State College.
