Crappie.com, a national fishing blog, published an article June 20 about a local girl with a talent for catching crappie.

The author, whose forum name is Slab, fished with Gracie Echols, her father Scott Echols and Charlie Brewer on Pickwick Lake.

The blog praises Gracie’s crappie catching abilities, saying the “professional crappie world needs to take notice of this pint-sized fishergirl.”

The blogpost goes on to tell that Gracie needed little help when catching fish and was very knowledgeable of the details of fishing.

Gracie is a student at Eva School.
