Cains headline HHS cheerleader fundraiser
The Cains Trio will be performing Sat., July 26 in the new Hartselle High School Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Hartselle High School cheerleaders.
Taylor, 24, Madison, 23, and Logan Cain, 22, are Hartselle High graduates and the children of Charley and Shari Cain. Both Charley and Shari are pastors at World Harvest Outreach in downtown Hartselle since 1991. Also, this country band is comprised of the grandchildren of the late J.P. Cain and Ruth Cain. The Cains Trio claims it was “born to make music” and has been doing so for quite some time. “We learned to sing together,” Madison said. “So, our music is an extension of our bond and the relationship we share.”
One of their songs entitled “Guitar Road” talks about this. When the song says “we learned how to sing on the way to soccer, to the radio in the van,” it’s not lying. The Cains played city league soccer here in Hartselle and rode to and fro in a silver ’95 Ford Windstar.
Ultimately, these kids just wanted a chance to play in their hometown right before they take their next step in life. “It’s a special feeling,” Taylor said, “getting to chase a dream you’ve had your whole life. We really are so blessed by God to even have this opportunity.”
The Cain kids are in the midst of pursuing a record deal and this is one of their big stops along the way. “We are so excited to get a chance to come home and play for the people who essentially helped us become who we are,” Logan said. “We are proud to be from Hartselle and to have a chance to say thank you to this city and these people is a real gift.”
Don’t miss a chance to see these Hartselle kids live in action at the Hartselle High School auditorium located at 1000 Bethel Rd NE, Hartselle on Sat., July 26, at 7 p.m. Tickets will be $6 at the door.
