A Somerville man is in jail after an Alabama Bureau of Investigation probe determined that he had created a false female identity on the Internet to lure hundreds of males through social media sites.

Justin Clay McNeil of Somerville was arrested Tuesday and is facing multiple charges of possession of child pornography. McNeil currently is being held in the Morgan County Jail pending additional charges related to child pornography.

On Tuesday, the ABI Cyber Crimes Unit with the assistance of the Somerville Police Department executed a search warrant on a residence in Somerville.

The investigation indicates McNeil used the false persona “April Morgan” to contact hundreds of underage males through social media websites, including approximately 17 individuals from within Alabama. Once McNeil had gained their trust, he would solicit them to provide him with explicit photos and videos of themselves. He then would distribute them over the Internet.

The Alabama Bureau of Investigation requests anyone with information that could help identify these victims contact the Cyber Crimes Unit at 1-800-228-7688 or the ABI Tip Line at 1-800-392-8011 or email info@dps.alabama.gov.
