Rotary exhibits SNAP

SNAP

The Hartselle Rotary Club exhibited a SNAP display at Rotary District 6860’s Conference, held at the Birmingham Marriott Hotel, April 10 – 12. Shown at the display are Carol Argo, District 6860 Grants Committee Chair and Bob Francis, Hartselle Rotary’s Grants Chair and SNAP Project Manager. The Hartselle Club, in 2006, successfully initiated efforts to unite all Hartselle civic clubs (Civitan, Lions, Kiwanis and Rotary) to develop SNAP. To date, Rotary (District 6860 and the Hartselle Club) has contributed $36,090 cash to SNAP, second only to government grants. The SNAP all-volunteer organization is focused on raising the remaining necessary funds in 2014 to complete the project for seasonal use in 2015. SNAP when complete will have a value (cash donations and in-kind services) of about $890,000. View www.snapplayground.org for comprehensive information about the project. For more information or to schedule a presentation about the project, call Bob Francis at 256-227-3483.
