FHS Band Concert set May 9th

The annual Falkville High School Spring Band Concert will be held Fri., May 9, at 7 p.m. Bradley Phillips is the band director. The public is invited to this concert and there is no admission.

An Easter party was held at Falkville Senior Center. The main event was a hat contest. Winners were: first place, Martha Garrison; second place, Martha Asherbranner; and third place, Clezele Asherbranner. Cake and ice cream were served to those mentioned and to Bobby and Linda Ball, Carol Cole, J. L. and Patty Pike, Vivian Summerford, Gayle Wallace and Charles and Linda Williams.

Breanna Dean and Adam of Lake Wells, Fla., surprised her grandparents, Oneal and Margaret Murphy and parents, Lynn and Susie Dean and sister, Summer. Also visiting with them were Brian and Carol Murphy and Autumn of Tuscaloosa.

The Class of 1952 of Falkville High School met at Libby’s Restaurant at Priceville Saturday for breakfast.

Sharing the good food and fellowship were Jack and Ina Hucks and their grandson, Jay, Bill Cuaard and his daughter, Cindy, Pete Lee, Franklin and Sue Harrison and Betty Parker. Also eating with the group were Ray and Betty Sanders, Sarah Gaines, Shirley Cooper and Kenneth and Betty Harpe.

Get well wishes are sent to Helen Gibson and Kathleen Anders from Betty Sanders.

Members of First Baptist Church Falkville extend birthday wishes to Keith Blankenship on May 1, Jacob Walling and Azarie Brewer, both on May 4, Vernon Ayre Jr, Jeff Davis and Jill Walling, all on May 5, Eli Teague on May 6 and Eugene Braswell on May 7.

The Women of Joy – Phil Waldrep Ministries Conference was held on April 25-27 at the Pigeon Forge LeConte Center. “What is Beyond Beautiful” was the theme with guest Rachel Ramsey Cruz and her father, Dave Ramsey, Nancy Stafford of the Matlock TV series, Marian Jordan, Candy Wood Lindley, Charles Billingsley, Christy Noc-kels and Chris Tomlin. Included in the 6,000 women at the conference were Patsy Coots, Fran Edmondson, Sylvia Hal-brooks, Patricia Ramey, Deborah Thompson, Charlotte Morris, Linda Alldredge, Mary Travers, Denise Weaver, Rita Burden and Michelle Randolph.
