Funeral for Paul Kilgore, 67, of Falkville was Sun., April 6, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Greg Compton officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Herring Cemetery.

Mr. Kilgore died Fri., April 4, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born June 24, 1946, to Frank Kilgore and Carrie Mae Wheeler Kilgore in Fayette County. He was a Vietnam veteran and served his country in the U.S. Army. After 40 years of dedicated service, he retired from Century Link Phone Company in June of 2013. He was a long time member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Massey. A kind, giving soul, he loved his family and church family. He never met a stranger and enjoyed watching his son’s ballgames. He will be missed as a husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, friend and neighbor. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joy Kilgore of Falkville; two sons, William Gosa, Hamilton and Hunter Allen Kilgore of Falkville; two daughters,Tracy Kirkpatrick and Becky Baysinger (Mike), both of Falkville; a brother, Rex Kilgore of Fayette; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were family and friends.
