Falkville shuts out Lady Hawks

Falkville’s softball team scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and went on to defeat Danville, 5-0, on Thursday.

Lyndsey Moore lifted the Lady Blue Devils with a three-run home run and a single. Bailey Anders had three singles and scored a run, Cheyenne Wilson had a pair of singles and an RBI, Makenzie Smith had two singles and scored twice, Callie Garner had two singles and scored a run, Emoni Smith had an RBI single and Emily Gray had a single.

Alexis Casteel was the winning pitcher. She allowed five hits while striking out six batters and walking four.

Kristen Dobbins had three hits for Danville while Sloan Lindsey and Kellee Stiles each had a hit.

Savannah Bolton was the losing pitcher. She allowed five runs on 13 hits while striking out three batters and walking two.

Falkville 1, Clements 0

Kaitlynn McMurry scored the only run of the game on Paige Garner’s RBI single in the second inning.

Mackenzie Smith, Lyndsey Moore and Cheyenne Wilson also had hits.

Callie Garner had a three-hit shutout with three strikeouts.

Adamsville 6, Falkville 1

Callie Garner and Paige Garner had the only hits in the loss to Adamsville. Cheyenne Wilson drove in Callie Garner for the only run.

Callie Garner had two strikeouts in the loss.

Muscle Shoals 4, Falkville 2

Emily Gray, Bailey Anders and Wilson had the only hits of the game. Kaitlynn McMurry also scored a run.

Alexis Casteel had three strikeouts in the loss.

Arab 4, Falkville 2

Callie Garner, Mackenzie Smith, Emoni Smith and Paige Garner had the only hits. Callie Garner and McMurry also scored runs while Makenzie Smith and Paige Garner drove in runs.

Casteel took the loss, allowing four runs on five hits with a strikeout.

Falkville 7, Ardmore 6

Falkville’s Lady Blue Devils pulled off one of their biggest wins of the season by defeating a top 10 ranked Ardmore team 7-6 in the 10th inning of a home game on Mach 31.

With two out, Lyndsey Moore singled to right field scoring Callie Garner from second base to win the game.

The Lady Blue Devils overcame a 3-0 deficit by scoring four runs on the bottom of the third and adding single runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

Falkville out-hit Ardmore 15-10.

Emoni Smith paced the win with a double, two singles and an RBI. Garner had a double, single and three RBIs, Moore doubled, singled, scored a run and had an RBI, Makenzie Smith had two singles and scored a rum Alexis Casteel had two singles and had an RBI, Cheyenne Wilson singled and scored two runs and Emily Gray had an RBI single.

Garner was the winning pitcher. She allowed three runs on five hits while striking out one batter and walking two in three and two-thirds innings. Casteel started the game and pitched six and one-third innings. She allowed three runs on five hits while striking out four batters and walking three.

Decatur Heritage 11, Falkville 7

Falkville’s Lady Blue Devils scored four runs in the first inning but went on to lose to Decatur Heritage, 11-7, on the road April 1.

Falkville collected 15 hits to 10 for DHCA.

Cheyenne Wilson led the Lady Blue Devils at the plate with three singles, two RBIs and scored a run. Bailey Anders had a double, single and scored a run. Emoni Smith singled two and knocked in two runs, Lyndsey Moore had two singles, an RBI and scored a run, Alexis Casteel and Emily Gray each had an RBI single, Makenzie Smith singled and scored a run and Paige Garner singled.

Casteel was the losing pitcher. She allowed six runs on four hits while striking out three batters and walking one. Calli Garner pitched one and one-third innings in relief, allowing four runs on four hits while striking out one batter and walking three. Kaitlynn McMurry pitched two and one-third innings, allowing one run on two hits while walking two batters.
