Danville downs Good Hope in area game

Danville’s Lady Hawks defeated area foe Good Hope 5-3 in a home game Thursday.

Hannah Grace Sherrill was the leading hitter with three singles in four plate appearances. Sloan Lindsey followed with a double and single, two RBIs and scored a run, Callie Ryan followed with a pair of singles and scored a run, Keilee Stile shad an RBI singe and Kristen Dobbins singled.

Reagan Burcham and Morgan Weatherwax each had a stolen base.

Savannah Bolton was the winning pitcher. Se allowed no runs on three hits while striking out six batters and walking one. Weatherwax pitched three innings in relief. She allowed three runs on three hits while striking out six batters and walking one.

Danville 2, Vinemont

Two extra base hits were all Danville’s Lady Hawks needed to slip by Vinemont, 2-1, in a game played on the road March 17.

Keilee Stiles accounted for one of Danville’s two runs run with a double and single and scored both runs. Hannah Grace Sherrill had an RBI single and Callie Ryan singled.

Lawrence County 3, Danville 2

Danville’s Lady Hawks played well but came up one run shy against Lawrence County in a road game March 18, losing 3-2.

The Lady Hawks were led at the plate by Sloan Lindsey with an RBI double. Reagan Burcham had an RBI single, Calie Ryan had a single and scored twice and Morgan Weatherwax singled.

Savannah Bolton was tagged with the loss. She allowed three runs on six hits while striking out five batters.
