BOE to hire head custodian at HHS

The Hartselle Board of Education is planning to hire a head custodian at Hartselle High School after the job description was approved Monday night.

School Superintendent Dr. Vic Wilson said the new high school is understaffed at the custodian position and needs a head custodian to oversee day-to-day operations and preventive maintenance.

“Right now, the custodians are doing the best that they can,” Wilson said. “They just don’t have enough custodians to adequately cover the entire facility. Plus, we need someone to keep up with preventive maintenance of the building so that it will save us money in the future.”

Wilson said he believes the head custodian will be able to meet the needs of the school “as long as we hire the right person.”
