Lady Blue Devils pick up area win

Falkville’s Lady Blue Devils (2-5) punched out 14 hits and went on to pick up a 9-3 area win at Addison March 11.

Makenzie Smith led the Lady Blue Devils in hitting with a home run, three singles, three RBIs and three runs scored. Bailey Anders collected three singles and had two RBIs and scored twice, Callie Garner has two singles, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base, Alexis Casteel had a double and two RBIs and Cheyenne Wilson, Emoni Smith, Emily Gray and Kaitlyn McMurray each singled.

Casteel was the winning pitcher. She allowed three runs on 11 hits while striking out seven batters and allowing two walks.

Decatur Heritage 10, Falkville 9

The Lady Blue Devils collected 10 hits in a 10-9 loss to Decatur Heritage on March 13.

Cheyenne Wilson had a home run and a double, knocked in three runs and scored twice to lead the Lady Blue Devils in hitting. Lyndsey Moore had three hits, an RBI and scored a run, Sky Engle singled in a run and scored a run, Makenzie Smith had a two-RBI single and scored a run and Paige Garner, Emily Gray and Shannah Story each singled and scored a run.

Falkville 7, Hatton 5

Falkville pulled off a 7-5 win over Hatton in the Russellville Varsity Tournament on Friday.

Cheyenne Wilson paced the win with a home run and a single, two RBIs and scored twice. Alexis Casteel had a double, an RBI and scored a run, McKenzie Smith added a double, an RBI and scored a run, Lyndsey Moore had two singles and scored two runs and Callie Garner had a pair of singles and scored a run.

Garner was the winning pitcher. She allowed five runs on eight hits while striking out two batters and walking three.

FHS 9, Tharptown 8

The Lady Blue Devils scored four runs in the fifth inning to edge out Tharptown, 9-8, in the Russellville Varsity Tournament on Saturday.

Makenzie Smith had a pair of doubles and two RBIs. Lyndsey Moore had a home run, two RBIs and scored a run, Bailey Anders had two doubles and a single, two RBIs and scored a run, Emily Gray had three singles and scored two runs, Cheyenne Wilson had a pair of singles, an RBI and score a run and Paige Garner had a single, an RBI and scored twice.

Garner was the winning pitcher. She allowed five runs on four hits while striking out three batters and walking five. Casteel started and pitched one inning, allowing three runs on one hit while walking two batters.

Tharptown 6, FHS 3

The Lady Blue Devils lost to Tharptown, 6-3, in their final appearance in the Russellville Varsity Tournament on Saturday.

Callie Garner, Alexis Casteel and Emily Gray each had a double and Lynsdey Moore, Callie Garner, Cheyenne Wilson and Bailey Anders each had a single.

Casteel was the losing pitcher, She allowd six runs on five hits while striking out three batters and walking two.
