Tigers go 3-2 in S. Alabama
Hartselle’s Tigers picked up three wins while losing two games against three South Alabama teams last weekend.
The Tigers collected wins against Daphne, Fairhope and Foley while losing squeakers to Foley and Daphne.
Games results are as follows:
Hartselle 8,Daphne 5
Tanner Oakes had two hits and scored two runs in leading the Tigers past Daphne on Saturday afternoon.
Daniel Conley had a hit and three RBIs and Brett Blackwood, Seth Malcolm, Collins Hanners and Tyler Cook each had a hit.
Tate Mathis was credited with the win. He allowed five runs on seven hits while striking out five batters and walking five.
Daphne 4,Hartselle 3
The Tigers matched Daphne in hits but fell short by one run in the first game of a Saturday doubleheader.
Blackwood and Conley each had two hits for the Tigers. Dustin Stephenson had a hit and an RBI and Cook and Hayden Bradford each had a hit.
Brady Wallace was the losing pitcher. He allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out five batters and walking one.
HHS 6, Fairhope 5
Brett Backwood paced the Tigers with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Oakes, Malcolm, Jorden Robinson and Hayden Bradford each had a hit.
Mason Towers was the winning pitcher. He allowed five runs on seven hits while striking out three batters.
Hartselle 8, Foley 1
The Tigers scored eight runs on seven hits while holding Foley to a run on four hits.
Blackwood collected three hits in leading the Tigers at the plate. He smashed a home run, had two RBI’s, scored three runs and stole four bases.
Collins Hanners had two hits and three RBIs and Malcolm and Conley each had a hit.
Jake Nelson was the winning pitcher. He allowed one run on four hits while striking out nine batters ands walking three.
Foley 2,Hartselle 1
Blackwood had three hits including a double, to lead the Tigers in a close game.
Stephenson had the team’s only other hit.
Dakota Fowler was the losing pitcher. He allowed one run on six hits while striking out three batters.
