A memorial service for Marilyn Ragan, 58, of Decatur will be Sun., Feb. 23, at noon at Rhodes Ferry Park in Decatur.

Ms. Ragan died Thur., Feb. 20, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born Jan. 12, 1956, in France to Robert Earl May and Louise Miller Hendrix. She spent many years working as a Social Worker for the State of Alabama and was recognized for “Outstanding Social Worker” on the national level by the Governor. She was always volunteering for FACES, DHR, United Way and any other causes she could participate in. Her lifelong goal was to help people. She touched everyone’s heart that she met and was admired and loved by many. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by daughters, Jennie Callaway Lentz of Hartselle and Becky Nichole McClain (Joshua) of Prattville; brothers, Mike Ray (Sandi) of Cullman, Robert Ray of Decatur, Jerri Ewell and Jerry Williams of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; sisters, Cindy Burns of Decatur and Sheri Bandy (Doug) of Fla.; two grandchildren; lifelong friend and co-conspirator, James Callaway of Hartselle; many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.

In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial donations be made to FACES of Morgan County.
