Crestline holds book fair
Crestline Elementary School is having a fiesta for reading this week.
The school book fair, which is one of the largest in North Alabama, wraps up Friday in the school library. The Fiesta themed fair gives students an opportunity to purchase a wide variety books, posters and other goodies while helping the school library.
“It is only fundraiser each year,” said Julie Hall, Crestline Library Media Specialist. “We always have outstanding support from our parents that we are able to have the top of the line book fair from Scholastic.”
Parents and students could also visit the book fair during two family nights on Feb. 4 and today. In addition to the book fair, a Chick-Fil-A night was held both family nights to help raise additional money for the school.
Third grade teacher Jeana Penrod also used book fair week to allow her students to dress up as the subjects of their biography book reports. The students dressed as people from Toby Mac to Jane Woodall.
Penrod even dressed up as the late Sally Ride, who was the first American female astronaut to travel into outer space.
