Danville girls rally to beat Falkville

Danville’s Lady Hawks rallied from a 10-0 deficit early in the game to defeat county rival Falkville 42-36 Friday night in the Tom Drake Gymnasium.

Falkville 12-3 at the end of the first quarter. Danville tied the game at the half and then went on a 9-2 run to end the third quarter with a 31-23 lead.

Falkville managed to cut the lead to one on two different occasions (35-34 and 37-36), but Danville  never lost the lead.

Tara Tuck led Danville with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists.  Sydni Shelton, Charlee Anderson and Gracie George each had eight points. Shelton also added nine rebounds, three assists and five blocked shots. Anderson had six rebounds while George had two steals and hit a 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter to put Danville up by eight.

Danville improved to 10-3 on the year and handed Falkville its first loss of the season. The Lady Hawks host Priceville tonight.
