Dorthy Lee Guess

Funeral for Dorthy Lee Guess, 76, of Valhermoso Springs was Fri., Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Holiness Church with the Revs. Melvin Brown and Tim Patrick officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thurs., Oct. 31, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Guess died on Tues., Oct. 29, 2013, at her residence. She was born March 1, 1937, in Morgan County to Herbert Earl McCutcheon and Grace Lurleen Winton McCutcheon. She was as homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Guess; and her parents.

She is survived by two sons, Dale Guess and Jack “Yogi” Guess, both of Valhermoso Springs; a daughter, Janet “Sissy” Holloway and husband Jack of Falkville; two brothers, Jack McCutcheon and Willard McCutcheon, both of Lacey’s Spring; two sisters, Mary Frances McCutcheon and Bernice Ruth McCutcheon, both of Valhermoso Springs; four grandchildren, Jody Crowe, David Lee Crowe, Telva Bogle and husband Chris, Taylor Guess; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Lawrence, Madison Evans, Jon David Crowe and MachKenzie Bogle.

Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons.
