Bobby Dean Hembree

Funeral for Bobby Dean Hembree, 72, of Decatur will be Thurs., Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Culbreath officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Thurs., Oct. 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Hembree died Tues., Oct. 15, 2013 at his residence. He was born Oct. 29, 1940, in Marshall County to James Henry Hembree and Thelma Veona Lindsey Hembree. He was a self employed contractor and owner of Hembree Construction. He retired from GTE in 1980. He was a member of the Home Builders Association and of West Hartselle Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jerry Hembree of Decatur.

He is survived by two sons, Bobby Dean Hembree, Jr., of Athens, Ga. and Zac Shelton and wife Donna of Hartselle; three daughters, Raquel Sparkman and husband David of Thompson’s Station, Tenn.; Regina Shipley and husband Roger of Danville and Zana Hembree of Nashville, Tenn.; five brothers, Fred Hembree of Hartselle, James Henry Hembree, Jr. of S.C., Billy Joe Hembree of Decatur, J.W. Hobo Hembree of Hartselle and Doug Hembree of Ga.; two sisters, Lola Hood of Leoma, Tenn. and Hilda Reeder of Decatur; six grandchildren, Tyler Eddy, Boone Shipley, Scarlett Shipley, Joshua Shelton, Jake Shelton and Dylan Sparkman; and four great-grandchildren.
