“Bullying and Cyberbullying” was one of three subjects addressed at a District 1 Student Leadership Conference held at First Baptist Church in Hartselle on Wednesday.

The conference was sponsored by the Alabama Association of Elementary School Administrators, District 1, and attended by 152 student leaders, representing Ambassadors and Student Councils.

Other conference topics were “Flag Etiquette,

“7 Habits of High Effective People” and “Mayberry” Ethics – (personal etiquette skills).”

Students attended from: Austinville Elementary. Banks Caddell (Cherokee), Chestnut Grove Elementary, Crestline Elementary, Danville-Neel Elementary, Eva School, F.E. Burleson Elementary, Julian Harris Elementary, Leon Sheffield Elementary, McBride Elementary, Priceville Elementary, Somerville Road Elementary, Walter Jackson Elementary, West Decatur Elementary and West Morgan Elementary.

“The principals of North Alabama schools decided to create student conferences to train student leaders in the skills they need throughout their lives,” said Eva Principal Patrick Patterson, District 1 president and conference coordinator. “The goal is to help these students become more effective in their leadership positions.”
