Hartselle volleyball picks up area wins

Hartselle High’s volleyball team extended its win streak to 4-0 against area opponents on Thursday with a 25-12, 25-18, 25-11 decision over West Point. The Lady Tigers also won over Lee 25-10, 25-9.

Against West Point, Haley Jared paced Hartselle with 11 kills, 6 aces, 2 blocks and 3 digs. Taylor Lybarger had six kills, two aces and three digs, Melissa-Paul Hill scored 15 assists, two aces, a block and four digs, Sarah Ellen Battles had 10 digs and an ace, Jordan Barbrey had 10 assists and five digs, Megan Zuck collected three kills and a dig, Bailey Powell has three kills, Katy Beth Bole scored four kills and a block, Mary Claire Swann had two kills and Catherine Bodley had a dig.

Jared also paced the Lady Tigers against Lee with seven kills, an ace, two blocks and two digs. Lybarger contributed four kills, an ace, a block and five digs, Hill had 12 assists, four digs, two kills, and a pair of aces, Powell added five kills, Zuck had a kill, Swann contributed a kill and a block, Battles had five digs, Barbrey had sic assists, an ace and a dig, Hannah Warren had three digs and Bole added a kill.

Lady Tigers win third area match

Hartselle High School’s volleyball team emerged the winner in a tri-match at home Thursday.

The Lady Tigers remained unbeaten in area competition with a win over Cullman, 25-18, 25-10, 25-21 and defeated Austin 25-15, 25-19.

The wins improved their record to 24-10, 3-0.

Haley Jared paced Hartselle in their win over Cullman with eight kills, five blocks, four digs and an ace. Taylor Lybarger had five kills, nine digs, four aces and a block, Melissa-Paul Hill recorded 16 assists, two blocks, four digs, two aces and a block, Megan Zuck had three kills, a blocks and a dig, Sarah Ellen Battles scored three assists and three digs. Bailey Powell had six kills, a block and a dig, Jordan Barbrey had 10 assists, eight digs and two aces, Mary Claire Swann scored two kills and an assist and Katy Beth Bole had four kills, two blocks and an assist.

In the win over Austin, Jared scored five kills, two blocks, two digs and an ace, Lybarger had five kills, four aces and a dig, Zuck collected four kills and a block, Hill had 10 assists and a kill, Barbrey had eight assists, an ace and a block, Powell scored three kills and Battles had two assists.
