Senior Center celebrates birthdays

A joint birthday party was held at Falkville Senior Center Mon., Aug. 26. Celebrating birthdays were Bobby Ball, Patsy Clemmons, Mary Ables and Lilly Ball. Birthday cake and hot dogs were served to the honorees.

Helping them celebrate the day were Vivian Summerford, Barbara Asherbranner, Martha Asherbranner, Terry and Jeannie Kelsey, Charles and Linda Williams, Linda Ball, Faye Anders, Martha Garrison and Judy McClellan.

Also attending the event were Shirley Sauter, Roy Ball, Carol Cole, J.L. and Patsy Pike, Movyln Roberson, Doc Edmon-dson, Gayle Wallace and Jackie Turney.

Belated birthday wishes are extended to Lavonia Stisher. Her special day was Sept. 6.

The Falkville Blue Devils will travel to Appalachian to take on their third opponent of this season on Sept. 13. Joel Schrenk is the head coach at FHS.

First Baptist Church of Falkville extends belated birthday wishes to Crystal Williams. Her special day was Aug. 30.

Members of the 1952 Class of Falkville High School met for breakfast at Libby’s Restaurant at Priceville. Attending this social event were Ray and Betty Sanders, Sarah Hadley Gaines, Scott and Betty Wilson Parker, Kenneth and Betty Apleton Harp.

Also eating with the group were Bob and Charlotte Evans Wise, Pete Lee, Jack and Ina Holiday Huck, Shirley Cooper and Howard and Helen Gibson.

Congratulations to the FHS. Blue Devils for winning their first football game of the sesson against Southeastern last Friday night.
