Morgan BOE OKs 20 personnel changes

Morgan County School Board approved 20 personnel changes on the recommendation of Superintendent Bill Hopkins Jr. at a meeting Thursday afternoon.

The changes are listed as follows:

•Approved a leave of absence request from Renate Galyean. A bus driver at Sparkman School, effective Aug. 19, 2013, through Sept. 30, 2014.

•Approved the employment of Donald Stephen Turney as a countywide temporary AMSTI van driver, effective Aug. 16, 2013. He is replacing Rob Ray who resigned.

•Approved the employment of Katie McGinnis as pre-k lead teacher at Lacey’s Spring School. Effective Aug. 16, 2013. This is a new position.

•Accepted the resignation of Benjamin Kimbrough as a special education teacher/coach at Falkville High School, effective Aug. 5, 2013.

•Accepted the resignation of Michael Henson as a teacher/coach at West Morgan Middle/High School, effective Aug. 5, 2013.

•Approved the promotion of Amy Lemons to a SPE certified teacher at Brewer High School, effective Aug. 16, 2013. She is replacing Sue Mann who resigned.

•Approved the employment of Marteasha Mason as a certified math teacher at Priceville High School, effective Aug. 16, 2013. She is replacing Ashley Boyd who transferred.

•Approved the promotion/reassignment of Shirley Speegle from CNP worker at Cotaco School to CNP assistant manager at Cotaco School, effective Aug. 16, 2013. She is replacing Suzanne Sharp who transferred.

•Approved the employment of Britney Burney as a clerical aide at Priceville Elementary School. Effective Aug. 16, 2013. She is replacing Lee Ann Richardson who was promoted.

•Approved the promotion of Brianna Brown to certified teacher at Priceville Elementary School, effective Aug. 16, 2013. She is replacing Laura Lamb who resigned.

•Approved the employment of Heather Clairday as a certified teacher at Priceville Elementary School, effective Aug. 16, 2013. She is replacing Angela Wynn who was reassigned.

•Approved the employment of Steven Harvel as a full-time custodian at Cotaco School, effective Aug. 16, 2013. He is replacing Clint Middleton who resigned.

•Approved the reemployment of Ryan Wade as a special education aide at West Morgan High School, effective Aug. 16. 2013. He is replacing Brandon Ozbolt who resigned.

•Approved the employment of Jared Miner as a certified science teacher at Brewer High School, effective Aug. 16, 2013. He is replacing Johnnia Linderman who transferred.

•Approved a catastrophic leave for Tina Prince, a custodian at Union Hill School, effective Aug. 27 through Sept. 11, 2013.

•Approved a catastrophic leave for Karen Peppers, a CNP worker at Lacey’s Spring School, effective Aug. 27 through Sept. 11, 2013.

•Accepted the resignation of Theresa Smith, a CNP worker at Union Hill School, effective Aug. 13, 2013.

•Approved the employment of Aaron Rogers as a 12-month, eight hours per day, custodian at Brewer High School, effective Aug. 16, 2013, He is replacing Terry Speegle who transferred.

•Approved the transfer of Tonya Templeton from special education teacher at Danville Middle School to countywide psychometrist, effective Aug. 2, 2013. She is replacing Ron Boyd who retired.

•Accepted a retirement notice from Ruth Garner, a WTR aide at Falkville Elementary School, effective Nov. 1, 2013.
