Pray for school year

Summer is quickly fading as the 2013-2014 school year arrives! Thoughts of supply lists, school calendars and new teachers fill our minds. Plans are already being made as students sign-up and opening day approaches.

School starts Mon., Aug. 19, and this will be an exciting time for some. One more item we need to add to our list is prayer. We need to pray for our children as well as their teachers. God has richly blessed us with our children and starting each day with prayer will make the day go so much better.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Zoie Collins and Dennis Morgan on Aug. 15, Rodney Berry, Brooklyn Pratt, Landon Dean and Lily Dean on Aug. 17, Michael Kirkpatrick on Aug. 18, Jerry Ferrell on Aug. 20 and Landon Robinson on Aug. 21.

Happy anniversary wishes to Lyle and Geraldine Caswell on Aug. 15, Michael and Cindy Townsend and Hoyt and Glendell McCaghren, all on Aug. 17, Mickey and Patti Brown, Tim and Karen Nelson and Chris and Robbie Chandler, all on Aug. 18, Eddie and Kim Letson on Aug. 20 and Steve and Gina Aguado and Max and Pamela Robinson, all on Aug. 21.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to Randall and Angela Wilson in the loss of Angela’s aunt, Louise Higdon.
