Woman charged with drug possession

A driver’s license and safety checkpoint in Somerville resulted in the arrest of a 41-year-old woman early July 24.

Morgan County Deputies made contact with driver Sabrina Vann Wright at the checkpoint at the intersection of Alabama 67 and 36. Deputies learned Wright was driving with a revoked license. They also found several controlled substances in the vehicle, including Lortab, Xanax and Morphine that were not prescribed to Wright.
The Morgan County Drug Task Force took over the investigation. Wright is currently on probation with the Decatur Police Department for a DUI from 2009.
Wright was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance. She was transported to the Morgan County Jail.
