Elizabeth Wesson, a 23-year-old UAB graduate from Hartselle, was crowned Miss Talladega County 2014 and Brooklyn Holt, a 16-year-old junior at Oak Mountain High School in Birmingham, was crowned Miss Talladega County’s Outstanding Teen 2014. The pageant, held on Sat., July 13, made available more than $3.2 million in in kind scholarships and more than $5,100 in cash scholarships to contestants.

Miss Wesson was talent winner and performed the vocal, “Art Is Calling For Me.” She was the recipient of the $500.00 cash scholarship presented by the Sylacauga Area Council on Arts and Humanities. She received more than $32,000 in scholarships, gifts and services and will represent Talladega County at the Miss Alabama Pageant in June 2014. Her platform is Act F.A.S.T.: Stroke Awareness and Prevention Education. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from UAB and is pursuing a second bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in speech pathology and audiology from the University of South Alabama. She is the daughter of Robert and Bobbie Jo Wesson.
