Frances Anne White

Funeral for Frances Anne White, 78, of Decatur will be Wed., July 24, at 2 p.m. at Cave Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. Jason Moore and Eric Mattox officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tues., July 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. White died Sun., July 21, 2013, at her residence. She was born June 16, 1935, in Morgan County to Francis Alex Collier and Dixie Christine Gurley Collier. Mrs. White was a lifetime member of Cave Springs Baptist Church in Priceville, where she was pianist or organist for 66 years. “Miss Anne” was the epitomy of Southern Hospitality as she welcomed visitors into her home and insisted that they share a meal with her family. She was a faithful servant of her Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, E.V. “Plug” White; two sons, Vann White and Irvin White, and a daughter-in-law, Shelia Jennings White.

She is survived by a son, Jim White and wife Julie of Priceville; two daughters, Alodie Brown and Renee Goree and husband Dell, both of Somerville; two sisters, Martha Weeks of Huntsville and Vicki Walker of Mountain Brook; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chase White, Ryan Edney, Alex White, Ken Goree, BlakeWhite, Nick McMunn, Kellen Brown, Tommy White and Chris Goree.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, American Cancer Society or Cave Springs Baptist Church “Building Fund”.
