Mae Smallwood

Funeral for Mae Smallwood, 73, of Hartselle will be Sun., July 21, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Ronald Kilpatric officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in New Hope North Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., July 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smallwood died Thur., July 18, 2013, at her residence. She was born Aug. 19, 1939, in Morgan County to Wert Moore and Betty Johnson. Mrs. Smallwood was a member of the Falkville Church of Christ and she enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Hartselle. She was formerly a cook at the Falkville Healthcare Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Smallwood; a daughter, Brenda Cryer; and a sister, Lora Dean Smith.

She is survived by three sons, Harlan Smith and wife Terrie, John Ross Smith, both of Falkville and Willard Smith of Hartselle; a step son, Jerry Smallwood of Hartselle; a sister, Betty Rackley of Hartselle; a step-father, Robert Morris of Hartselle; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Roger Lindley, Joseph Smith, Bryan Rowland, Kyle Rackley, Jimmy Rackley and Tyler Robinson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Russell Brown and Willy Mitchell.
