Susan Christine Reno

Funeral for Susan Christine Reno, 94, of Pekin, Ill. will be Sat., July 27, at 1 p.m. at the Church of God Prophecy in Hartselle with her great nephew and Pastor Joe Nuss officiating.

Burial will be at Union Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Reno died Tues., June 25, 2013, at her home. She was born April 25, 1919, in Hartselle to William E. and Cora Thomas Prince. She married Lon Dean Reno on March 18, 1939. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Hartselle. She had been a cook for Lurleen B. Wallace for many years, a babysitter for many children and a positive Christian role model for all her family and friends. She enjoyed fishing, swimming, playing cards, playing the guitar and piano and singing. She loved to cook for her grandchildren and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lon Reno; a son, Jerrie Reno; a daughter, Gail Little; and ten brothers and sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ball and husband Cecil of Pekin, Ill.; two sons, Jim Reno of Decatur, Neb. and Johnnie Reno of Peoria Ill.; two sisters, Ethelene Goodwin of Birmingham and Pearl Tapscott of Falkville; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be given to her church, Church of God of Prophecy, 503 Stewart St., South, Hartselle.
