Malcomb Meals

A memorial service for Malcomb Meals, 76, of Danville will be Thur., May 2, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mason Booth officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Thur., May 2, from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Meals died Mon., April 29, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1936, in Limestone County to Ulys B. Meals and Louise Weatherford Meals Gulley. He was a chemist for 31 years at 3M Company in Decatur, until he retired in 1992.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ulys B Meals, his mother, Louise Weatherford Meals Gulley; stepfather, J.W. Gulley; and two brothers, Charles D. Meals and James William Meals.

He is survived by his wife, Bettye Roberts Meals of Danville; a daughter, Cindy Simmons and husband Alan of Danville; a brother, Morris Meals and wife Carol, of Pendleton, Ind.; granddaughters, Lauren Simmons and Lindsey Simmons, both of Danville; a nephew and niece in Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Chris Russell Fund at Neel United Methodist Methodist Church – C/O Susan Long, 261 Wynn-Wallace Road, Hartselle, AL 35640.
