Hartselle’s Lady Tigers (38-11-1) defeated Lawrence County 3-1 in the semifinals and went on to claim a share of the championship title in the Hoover Classic on Saturday.

Hartselle also posted wins against Prattville, Central-Phoenix City, Clay-Chalkville and Wetumpka. The only loss was to Central-Phenix City.

Sara Ellen Battles belted two-run homer to lead the Lady Tigers against Lawrence County. Taylor Wascavage had a pair of singles and an RBI and Baylee Holt had a double and single and scored a run, Hope Cain had a double and scored a run and Madeline Sittason singled.

Haley Jared was the winning pitcher. She allowed only one run on one hit while striking out five and walking two batters.

Hartselle 3, Prattville 2

The Lady Tigers edged Prattville 3-2 by out-hitting the losers 10 to four. Jared led the attack with a double and two singles. Kayla Faulk had Holt had a pair of singles and two RBIs, Holt had a double and single and scored a run, Leah Stephenson had an RBI single, an Ashley Boggs and Ma Smithson each singled and scored a run.

Jada Hayes was the winning pitcher She allowed two runs on four hits while striking out six batters.

Central-Phenix 4, Hartselle 1

The Lady Tigers were limited to four hits in their loss to Central-Phenix.

Holt had an RBI double, Faulk had a pair of singles and Boggs had a single.

Faulk was tagged with the loss. She allowed four runs on eight hits while striking out three and walking two batters.

Hartselle 6, Clay-Chalkville 0

The Lady Tigers blanked Clay-Chalkville on the strength of 12 hits while holding the losers to two.

Wascavage led the attack with a double and single and an RBI, Faulk had a double and single and scored a run, Battles had a pair of singles and an RBI, Jared had a pair of singles and two RBIs and Holt, Hayes, Sittason and Cain each singled.

Hayes was the winning pitcher. She allowed no runs on two hits while striking out six batters.

Hartselle 4, Wetumpka 2

Hartselle collected seven hits in a 4-2 win over Wetumpka.

Faulk led the attack with a three run homer, Hayes and Boggs each had a pair of singles and Battles and Holt singled.

Hayes was credited with the win. She allowed two runs on six hits while striking out six batters and allowing three walks.

The Tigers also posted a 9-1 win over Hoover.

Holt and Faulk were enamed to the All-Tournament team.
