City of Southern Hospitality has a new look

Logo part of marketing plan

Hartselle is putting on a new face for potential merchants and visitors.
The city has unveiled a new logo that will be part of a wider campaign to market Hartselle. As part of that campaign, a new directional sign has been installed with plans for more in the future.

New logo

The new logo and signage were designed by Red Sage Communications Inc of Decatur. The work was funded through a Convention and Visitors Bureau grant obtained by Sen. Arthur Orr.
“With the upcoming construction of our new high school and the influx of BRAC-related residents, we felt that it was time to update the city branding and focus more on tourism,” Mayor Dwight Tankersley said. “The wayfinding signage will help visitors find their way around the city and will help promote everything that our city has to offer.  We are excited about the new logo and the wayfinding signs and feel that it is another step of progress for our city.”
The new logo shows a representative historic downtown building with the  city slogan – “A City of Southern Hospitality” and city’s color, maroon.  Designers said the new logo represent’s the city’s small town roots and family friendly atmosphere “but also shows the city’s future.” The logo is featured on the city’s business cards and letterhead and on a new welcome mat at City Hall. The mat was donated by Valley Industrial of Hartselle.
The  grant is also paying for a directional sign that will be installed at Sparkman Park. The plan calls for other signs to be installed once more funding is obtained.
