Philip Meneese Orr Jr.

A graveside service for Philip Meneese Orr Jr., 80, of Longview, Texas, a former resident of Hartselle, was Mon., April 22, at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas, with Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Orr died Wed., April 17, 2013, in Longview, Texas He was born Aug. 22, 1932, in Sulligent to Philip M. Moore Sr. and Helen Hill Orr. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Martiele Frances Orr.

He grew up in Morgan County, was a graduate of the former Morgan County High School and attended Texas A&M University where he graduated in 1954. He worked for Bell Helicopter and later retired as a real estate agent. He was a dedicated Christian man who loved and cherished his wife, children and family.

He is survived by two sons, Charles M. Orr and wife Juli and six children, Hannah, Chaney, Olivia, Sophie, Meredith and Brooklyn of Longview and Clayton P. Orr and children, Madeline and Philip, of Spring, Texas; two sisters, Meneese Wall and husband Steve and daughter Coco of Santa Fe, N.M. and Christie Lou Orr of Dallas, Texas; and two sisters, Adeline Byford and husband Ray of Decatur and Frances Orr of Lexington, Ky.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkinson Voice Project, 500 N. Coit Road, Richardson, TX 75080.
