Evans expected to fully recover

Bill Evans is steadily improving and is expected to make a full recovery from the multiple injuries he sustained in an Aug. 7 fall from a scissors lift at Hartselle High School’s football practice field.
Last week, Evans was alert and able to sit up in a medical chair in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Huntsville Hospital.
He is recovering from a fractured skull, broken ribs, fractured pelvis and internal bruises.
“We’re pleased with the progress he’s making but a full recovery is going to be a long process,” said his wife, Sarah Anne. “His doctors have told us all of his injuries are self-healing and his good physical condition helped him survive the accident.”
He has a speech loss from the head injury but is expected to recover from that with therapy.”
Mrs. Evans said her husband has no recollection of what caused him to fall.
Shortly before he fell, he was filming the Hartselle Tigers in a scrimmage session and had stopped filming when the players were given a water break.  One witness to the fall said Evans did not call out and appeared to be in a free fall as he came down.
